The Department of Foreign Languages of Azerbaijan University continues its training to apply new approaches to teaching foreign languages, including English, that are in line with modern international practice. The next such training is devoted to improving Writing classes.

General information was given about Academic Writing conducted by the lecturer of the Department Sanubar Hamidli. A presentation on “descriptive paragraph”, one of the types of writing to be taught at the pre-intermediate level in the spring semester, was demonstrated. The structure, content and other elements of this type of writing were reviewed and evaluation criteria for it were discussed.

At the same time, modern methods that make Writing classes more productive were considered at the training.

At the end, the lecturers participating in the training wrote paragraphs on various topics and discussed them.
