Azerbaijan University offers a number of programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Admission is carried out once a year and admission is based on the number of factors including the previous record of academic performance, applicant’s personal characteristics and etc.

BEFORE ADMISSION:

When to apply: Admission is conducted once a year, and the application period for the next academic year opens in May and closes in September.

*Note: MBA students intending to pursue doctoral studies must complete a master's thesis. Students with a GPA above 71 in the first semester will be eligible to undertake the final thesis.

* Students who have a permanent residence permit card and dual citizenship can be admitted to the university by participating in the exams organized by the Ministry of Education.

* All foreign applicants must register online at portal.edu.az. These documents for online registration are required:

  • International passport
  • Medical certificate (HIV/AIDS, Hepatit B and C)
  • 12-year High school certificate and transcript (with an apostille or equivalent stamp)
  • Bachelor diploma with transcript (with an apostille or equivalent stamp) - for applicants for Master’s program
  • Language Certificate*

*Applicant who are native English Speaker/have taken an English-taught High-School, Bachelor or Master degree are exempted from these test requirements.

Important note

Diplomas and transcripts issued by the relevant official bodies of foreign countries and submitted for recognition must be legalized with an "apostille" stamp / certificate by the competent authority of the issuing country in accordance with the “The Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents”.

After education documents obtained in foreign countries that have not joined the Convention must be legalized at the embassy (or consulate) of the Republic of Azerbaijan in that country after approval by the competent authority of the issuing country in accordance with the relevant laws.

Please take into account that foreign applicants who want to study at Bachelor, Master's Degree and PhD have to pass through recognition of qualifications/nostrification process of their High School Diploma, Bachelor Diploma and Masters Diploma (https://www.tkta.edu.az/p/nostrify-your-diploma) and provide us a letter of registration.

AFTER ADMISSION:

The following documents are necessary after the admission process:

  • The original and copy of the document on the previous level of education (notarized)
  • Azerbaijani translation of the document on the previous level of education (notarized)
  • 2 copies of passport
  • 6 pictures

FOUNDATION

Foundation is taught in two languages: Azerbaijani and English. The study period covers one academic year. All foreign applicants must register online at portal.edu.az. The following documents are required for online registration:
