General Information

Social Issues is an international peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to publishing high-quality original research, review articles, and scholarly discussions in the fields related to social sciences and interdisciplinary studies.

The journal accepts manuscripts written in English.

Authors are encouraged to submit original, innovative, and academically rigorous manuscripts that contribute significantly to the advancement of knowledge within the journal’s scope.

Types of Manuscripts

The journal accepts the following categories of submissions:

  • Original Research Articles
  • Review Articles
  • Case Studies
  • Short Communications
  • Theoretical and Conceptual Papers
  • Book Reviews (upon editorial invitation)
  • Editorials

Submission Requirements

Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts:

  • Have not been published previously
  • Are not under consideration by another journal
  • Are original and free from plagiarism
  • Comply with ethical publishing standards
  • Follow the journal formatting guidelines
  • Are written in clear academic English

All submissions must be submitted electronically through the journal submission system or official editorial email.

Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should generally include the following sections: Title, Author Names and Affiliations, Corresponding Author Information, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Literature Review, Methodology, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgments (optional), Funding Information (if applicable), Conflict of Interest Statement, References. Additional headings may be used depending on the nature of the study.

Title Page

The title page should contain:

  • Full manuscript title
  • Full names of all authors
  • Institutional affiliations
  • ORCID IDs (recommended)
  • Corresponding author email address

Authors should ensure that all provided information is accurate and complete.

Abstract and Keywords

Each manuscript must include: An abstract of approximately 150–250 words; 4-6 keywords

The abstract should clearly summarize:

  • Research purpose
  • Methodology
  • Main findings
  • Key conclusions

References and unexplained abbreviations should be avoided in the abstract.

Formatting Guidelines

Authors should download and use the template file to prepare their manuscripts: Template for MS Word on Windows System.

Citation and Referencing Style

Authors must follow the APA citation style unless otherwise specified by the journal.

References should:

  • Be accurate and complete
  • Include DOI numbers where available
  • Be listed alphabetically at the end of the manuscript

Authors are responsible for ensuring citation accuracy.

Tables and Figures

Tables and figures should:

  • Be numbered consecutively
  • Include descriptive titles
  • Be cited within the text
  • Have sufficient resolution and clarity

Authors must obtain permission for copyrighted materials where necessary.

Language and Editing

Manuscripts must be written in grammatically correct academic English.

The editorial office may request professional language editing before peer review or final acceptance.

Poor language quality may result in rejection or delayed review.

Peer Review Process

Social Issues applies a double-blind peer review system.

After editorial screening, suitable manuscripts are evaluated by independent reviewers.

Based on reviewer reports, the editorial decision may be:

  • Accept
  • Minor Revision
  • Major Revision
  • Reject

The Editor-in-Chief makes the final publication decision.

Revision Process

Authors receiving revision requests must:

  • Submit a revised manuscript within the specified timeframe
  • Provide a detailed response to reviewer comments
  • Clearly indicate all revisions made in the manuscript

Failure to submit revisions on time may result in withdrawal of the submission.

Ethical Considerations

Authors must comply with the journal’s Publication Ethics and Policies.

Submissions involving human participants or animals should include appropriate ethical approval information where applicable.

Authors are responsible for obtaining necessary permissions and informed consent.

Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, or personal relationships that may influence the research or interpretation of findings.

If no conflicts exist, authors should state:

“The authors declare no conflict of interest.”

Funding Information

All sources of financial support for the research must be disclosed within the manuscript.

Authors should clearly identify grant numbers and funding institutions where applicable.

Data Availability Statement

Authors are encouraged to include a statement regarding the availability of supporting research data.

AI-Assisted Technologies

If artificial intelligence tools were used during manuscript preparation, authors must disclose this information within the manuscript.

AI tools cannot be listed as authors.

Authors remain fully responsible for the content, originality, and accuracy of the submission.

Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright of their published work unless otherwise specified.

By submitting a manuscript, authors grant the journal the right to publish and archive the work.

Article Processing Charges (APC)

The journal does not charge submission or publication fees.

Withdrawal Policy

Authors wishing to withdraw a manuscript must submit a formal written request to the editorial office.

Withdrawal requests after peer review or acceptance may require editorial evaluation.
